Ruben de Hoyos

Dear Members and Friends:

Thank you for your support and commitment to the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Greater Baytown in 2008. We value your investment in membership with us, and although the current economic situation in our country is now beginning to hurt our area, overall we finished 2008 relatively strong. Even though we might not have met all of our strategic goals we set in the beginning of last year, we could not have accomplished any of them without your investment, engagement, and cooperation.

I have had the privilege of watching many of you, our members, reach high goals in business and professional accomplishments. Several of our officers, Board, and other chamber members have been appointed or elected to important boards and commissions that shape the area and make important decisions that affect Baytown and the Gulf Coast.

On the business development arena, we have seen a large number of Hispanic owned small businesses startup in spite of the challenging times. We feel that these entrepreneurs will be able to weather the storm and grow as the economy regains its vigor. HCCGB as a business advocacy and membership organization will continue to work diligently on your behalf on all levels of the public and private sector toward a better Baytown.

With Best Regards,

Ruben de Hoyos, President HCCGB
